When Nature Calls.

My dog is extremely energetic so occasionally we take her up the hills for a long, tiring walk. My brother and I recently went up the hills to hopefully find the wild horses we found last time that we got chased by. Long story, haha. We had no joy, I could hear them just didn't manage to find my way to them. Anyway i managed to take some other images. So today I thought I would share them. I needed an excuse to take my new camera for a test run!

Firstly I came across this little birdie.. a Robin. Perched on a wire fence, the perfect photo. Only one thing would have made this photo better, SNOW! However this was a month or so ago when it was slightly warmer so there wasn't any chance of that.

Next up... a Mole! I had never seen one before so it was exciting when I came across this little fella.

Dragonflies... Two stuck together?! Hmm not too sure about this one. I will let you figure it out..

Last of all... A cow! Yeah Yeah just an average cow you see everyday but still thought I would include it.

There was even more photos but I do not have a clue where abouts they are, think I may have deleted them. Woops!
Anyway i'm sure I will be having many more adventures soon up the hills, getting fresh air and going on a long walk. It is always a right adventure when I go with my brother... we end up climbing through barbed wire, getting chased by horses, herding up cows, hunting for a castle that wasn't even there, climbing down a very steep mine rail track, the list would just go on and on.
So, hope you enjoyed seeing a few pictures from the days out I have.
More adventures to come... hopefully, haha
XOXO

Are Job Interviews Scary??

Okay, so I don't wish to confuse any of you but I wrote this like a few months ago (oops) and never finished it so heres my first half....

Hello.....
I haven't been on for a while so I thought I would do another catchup blog and let you know what i have been up to. I do plan to do a lot more blog posts and have ideas lined up for them including quite a lot of reviews!
So I have now finished my first year of A Levels so I have a few weeks to chillax!! hahaha So now I have time to do my blog, tidy and organise my room, find a job and a lot more.. Also i have some DIY's (or GIYs) but i need to come up with a clever name for the series first on my blog, thinking cap on!
I went for a job interview early this morning, no lie in for me (thats probably why I fell asleep when I got back). I didn't feel as nervous because I knew what to expect as I had already had my first interview a month or so ago. I got the job there but couldn't take it due to the travelling, gutted about it but was so uber excited when a company phoned me the other day to say I have made it through to interview stage! Now I just have to wait to hear the results... fingers crossed! For all of you first time job finding people that are going for their first interview, here are some tips and my thoughts on interviews. Now my first interview I was petrified, couldn't stop shivering and constantly got muddled with my words when asked a question. I got the job though hahah. Just a shame it wasn't for me. What did I wear to my first interview, it was more relaxed because I knew the employers family so I wore: black skinny jeans from Topshop, smart black loafer style shoes from Steve Madden and a blue cat shirt from River Island! wolla!! Right my tips from my second interview I had and what I wore:

  • I wore... My Steve Madden shoes again (because they are so cute and look smart), a houndstooth print tube skirt (one of the knee/midi length of course!), a blouse (from Primark years ago)
  • STAY RELAXED! Don't sit with your arms crossed and have your eyes avoiding the interviewer. Smile throughout and stay focused.
  • Be prepared! Know the company, know their work ethic, and most important know yourself and what you want out of the job. Although they might not ask you anything about the company it's always handy to know just incase.
  • Don't panic! Stay calm the days before the interview and just think of it as a casual chat about a job you want.

(Second half, woops ahaha)

I GOT THE JOB!!! I GOT THE JOB!!! I GOT THE JOB!!!

did i mention i got the job?!

I need to go out celebrating now... hmmmm where to go that is the question??

I have been working there for 3 months now and all is going well!
I have only ever had three job interviews in my life so far.
I know how incredibly hard it is to get a job when you are young with no experience but have faith because you will get their in the end, I handed in CV's and applications everywhere before i got my current job. Someone will end up getting back to you but be patient.

I have loved discussing this and trying to give my advice, I have so much more
so who knows... I might even blog again about Job Interviews and helpful tips.
I feel this is just a little insight to get you started and to tell you that there will be
a job for you out there.
                                                             Just don't give up!
                                                                       XOXO

Better late than never..

I have realised I have done fashion, nails and lifestyle so far but haven't covered much beauty. Well its time.... dunn dunn duuuun!
The weather is getting colder which means lips are getting drier so we all need that little something to keep them soft. This is my secret little weapon...
Balmi Lip Balm £4.99

My lips have been extremely dry this autumn/winter. Puzzled as to why but I found my hero for saving my lips. I originally wanted to test the well known eos lipbalms from the USA but they were £6.99 on Amazon and I had heard some reviews saying its not worth the hype so I decided to give it a pass. I spotted the Balmi lipbalms in boots quite a while ago and thought they looked extremely similar to the eos balms. I picked one up and have loved it ever since. I use it last winter too, sadly it is getting low and they now have a new shape.. a square?! Much prefer the round ones but hey ho!
Hope you found this helpful and it saves you from chapped lips this winter. It's going to be a cold one!

XOXO

Try Before You Buy?!

I was on the hunt for some new products could review as my blog has been sadly neglected for a while. I know I shouldn't use excuses but I have been starting a new blog in addition to this one. Go check it out... http://allthingsbrightandfashion.blogspot.co.uk/
It is more fashion based and only fashion will be posted on there. Things like OOTD's, new trends, clothing I have been loving, brands, etc. A post has not yet been put up but I am currently working on two, and I am trying to create a good layout.
I have also been extremely busy with college and have been stuck on what I could do for my next blog posts. Thats when I came across this website. So I registered and they gave me a lovely link to share with all my fellow blog readers...
https://www.whatsinmyhandbag.com/r/53xc

I have signed up to try the YSL touché eclat radiant touch, fingers crossed I get to review it for you. I have been wanting to try it for so long and on a student budget I cant quite justify spending that much when I don't even know if I like it. It's like that with most products. I have a very limited high end makeup collection, most of it is from boots and superdrug (or drugstores to all the non british readers!). HaHa

Heres my little profile link
https://www.whatsinmyhandbag.com/u/Amy96

I have only just started so I am slowly getting used to the site.

Thought I would just pop on to say hi and I am still here to write blogs. Please don't leave me just yet, haha.

Thanks for reading and checking this blog out, hope I keep you interested and wanting to read more. I enjoy writing about things and it is a passion of mine, I love to share that passion with people!

XOXO

New Year, New Me??

Recently I have been so focused on hitting deadlines for my work that I haven't had time for myself.. (thats why my blog has been neglected, sorry) but today I found time for myself and realised it is time to start what I set out to do for the new year. I don't want to be a whole new person, I just want to feel different, look different and be more confident with myself. This includes getting healthy and being more persistent with exercise.  Yes.. Exercise  that means getting out of breath and being sweaty, but I guess that shows your working hard. If I put more effort in then I will able to achieve bigger goals.

Tumblr has been extremely inspirational for tips and tricks, and inspirational qoutes to get me motivated... (although I do tell myself "i will start tomorrow" but can you blame me as it is 7pm)

It's not just fitness and eating healthier so I can have more energy but being happier and more confident. That will only come if I let go of everything, and I mean everything and just move on from the past. No forgive and forget, just keep away from the ones who hurt you badly so it won't happen again but lift the big chain and ball I have been carrying around for years. It's time to have more fun and have a better social life. Re-connect with old friends who you miss but meet up more with new friends aswell. You have to have an equal balance. This won't come from counseling or therapy or self-esteem work, this has to come from me! Doesn't matter what the doctor says or the councellor says, I am moving on but accepting i did have a breakdown but am overcoming it slowly and gradually. I achieved this by being more positive, smiling more, laughing more, having more fun, and not worrying.

A new me calls for new hair, right?? My hair is looonngg and I am not just saying that. I can almost sit on it! Do I really want to chop it all off at once? Instead i am gradually going to get there. Little at a time. Using my own handy dandy work and some hair dressing scissors my mum bought me. I do both my brothers hair and my mum's (can't do my dad's because.. well.. he has no hair!) so how hard could it be to do my own. I guess I will find that out soon.. should I post a picture when I am done or wait until I go drastically short, eventually, maybe, never? I guess that all depends on how great I cut it haha. So many people seem to be going short this year so I thought why not!! Not to follow the crowd but I have had long hair for a few years now and it is too much to manage and im getting a bit bored of it. A fringe (or BANGS if your american, which personally is so much cooler to say) has also been trending lately, not too sure if I am that brave. I would like to go for sort of a wispy, shaggy fringe like Katy Perry rocks in her part of me music video rather than go straight for the classic T Swift block fringe. Personally I love her hair in the trouble music video.. maybe I will be brave enough to try it one day! Last time I had a block fringe was when I was 11 and I loved it at first until I realised I looked about 5!

Now we can't have new hair with make up and outfits... I get compliments on my style anyway but I wont to go more exciting. experiment more. GIY more!! how fun?! My makeup.. well I want to experiment more, not get stuck in a rut. Have fun with bold lip colours and fun winged liner. Maybe continue not using mascara (even though I have like tubes that need to be used up.. oops)! I haven't used mascara for just over a month now and now it just feels natural not to apply any. Sort of like  a many detox for my eyes, I think my eyelashes thank me for it because I was a mascara junkie before!! I have looked at some gorgeous and adventurous new trends for S/S 2013 and I will definetely enjoy experimenting.

Well thats pretty much my life summed up at the moment. Became deep at the start but I pulled it out with beauty and fashion, things that my blog is about. Not my life, no one wants to hear about that.. right?! I'm still not comfortable with people finding out who I am, what I look like. I'm not even comfortable with me and what i look like, yet. Not ready to be judged. Just judged by my blog posts. Maybe if I get enough followers and people liking what I write then maybe, just maybe, i might reveal me....
That's all for now, off to do more work.... yes, even at 10 o'clock at night but I have the Maroon 5 Overexposed album to keep me company.
